Funds are available from the Presbytery of Eastern Virginia’s Synod of the Mid-Atlantic donated fund to assist congregations in implementing the Matthew 25 initiative of:
Congregations apply, and all approved funds will be disbursed to the congregation. The Presbytery Council approves the disbursement of funds.
Funds are available from the Presbytery of Eastern Virginia’s Cannell Marital Trust donated fund to assist congregations in providing financial assistance for children, youth, and adults to attend and participate in Presbyterian Church (USA) camps and conference centers in the southeastern United States. Congregations apply, and all approved funds will be disbursed to the congregation.
Funds will be made available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Maximum amounts offered per camp/conference are:
Five hundred dollars ($500) per youth/adult
Two thousand five hundred dollars ($2,500) per Congregation
This grant is limited to our community, but not limited to food. There is no deadline for this grant
This grant is to support community mission projects of various PEVA churches, committees, and related agencies. Funds come from the St. Columba corpus and miscellaneous gifts and are administered by the PEVA Hunger and Peacemaking Committees in collaboration with the General Presbyter and or Presbytery Council. Focus of this grant is to provide (ordinarily matching) funds to support Community local mission endeavors of PEVA congregation (s).
This grant is for organizations or churches that work with low-income families and individuals to provide hunger relief. This grant is limited to food for loacal direct hunger relief.
This grant is intended for development or continuation costs to support projects/programs that promote peace, social justice, and enviromental justice.
The PEVA Small Church Grants provide assistance ordinarily up to $10,000.00 to individual congregations. Funds are provided from Small Church Assistance (formerly Metcalf Trust).
The Presbytery of Eastern Virginia has established the Covid-19 Online Worship Technology Fund to assist churches looking to begin or to further equip their online worship ministry. In the Covid-19 pandemic season, churches are unable to meet in person, and are recording and posting their worship services on the internet as a way to sustain their worship ministry. This fund will assist in the purchase of equipment and resources (cameras, microphones, laptop computers, etc.) necessary for online worship.

PEVA has allocated funds for assistance with COVID-19 Pandemic needs. Funds for congregations may be used for a variety of purposes such as air quality or sanitation equipment and supplies, facility renovations or touchless systems to improve health safety, or other emergent needs related to pandemic/post-pandemic challenges. PEVA chaplains and others in PEVA ministries may also apply.

Grants from the Synod of the Mid-Atlantic. Grant application deadlines are February 1st and August 1st annually.
These grants, scholarships, and funds have been made possible by the generous giving of Presbyterians. In that same spirit, contributions are needed to continue grant funding. The most immediate way to contribute is through an individual, group, or congregational donation to the Synod for a specified purpose. Individuals can also help through bequests from their estates, by making it a beneficiary of their life insurance, or with gifts of securities, real estate, or annuities.
